Smoothie Bowls are what breakfast dreams are made of. It looks like ice cream, almost taste like ice cream, and makes you feel good about your breakfast selection. A smoothie bowl is basically a really thick smoothie that’s been topped with oatmeal, fruit or nuts, and then you wolf it down with a spoon. After eating a bowl, you will not only feel blissfully full (for hours) and have satisfied a sweet craving (no need to cave for a sesame seed bagel with bacon chive cream cheese). You’ll have also done something that was good for you. Win Win.
S m o o t h i e B o w l Recipe
1 CUP MANGOS
1 CUP STRAWBERRIES, RINSED
1 CUP PEACHES
1 CUP GREEK YOGURT
* assorted fruits and nuts for garnish. I used honey coconut chips, chia seeds, strawberries and organic granola. I also added agave nectar for a little bit more sweetness.
Start by chopping up your fruit, I personally used frozen fruit because it’s less time consuming. Place all the fruit in the blender, add Greek yogurt. Start by pulsing the mixture until desired texture. I added a little bit of water, probably ½ tablespoon and ice for thickness (optional). Once my desired smoothie texture is complete I pour in a bowl and then top with my assortment of garnish. There you have it; you completed your first smoothie bowl. ENJOY!
