Last night while getting ready for dinner, I couldn’t help but think, “What the hell am I going to write for this gossiping section in my blog?” I could tell lately I’ve been stressing about making everything perfect by the empty boxes of thin mints that are on my nightstand. I figured after dinner I would focus all my energy into coming up with something awesome. Once we arrived at dinner, BAM it hit me…I would write about what I know best…EATING!
Have you ever been to Kinderhook, NY? Me either, but it’s the most adorable town with a lot of character and charm. German and French inspired dishes that change with the seasons, I definitely fell in love.
The drinks were flowing and the food was endless. The portions were perfect, never getting to full and leaving time in between to digest. The staff was amazing and really cared about the quality of food they were creating. They spoke very highly of everything and were very accommodating. This small cozy restaurant only seats 26, so making reservations is a definite must!
3 words – wood-fired flatbreads…. How pretty does this look, too pretty to eat? Yeah right! It’s called “The Valley” and yes it was delicious! This mouth-watering dish is good to the last bite, mushrooms, kale, butternut squash and white cheese (yum yum yum).
I love steak, especially flat iron steak. The chef cooked it perfectly, with little onion crisps and seasonal vegetable… AMAZING. This also came with potatoes in a little pot with melted cheese on the top, sorry for no picture…the fact that I ate them so quick says a lot. It was a delicious cheesy goodness that melted in your mouth, still dreaming of it.
Did you think I would be full to get dessert? NEVER! I shared, yes shared…this deconstructed flourless black forest cake. You know it’s going to be good with a name like that, one bite and I was in heaven. It was smooth and chocolaty, dipped in the salted caramel was a game changer and it was DELICIOUS.
